Instrumental that would have easily fit alongside `Six Ate' off Camel's debut album, acoustic guitars (almost sounding like a demo), it achieves a stark and reflective honesty. `Tuuleen Kaiverretut Portaat' is a melancholic piano ballad sungīy Pia-Maria, and despite it having a noticeably poorer sound quality than the rest of the album The second side opens just as strong with the title track `Uuteen Aikaan', a soft yet languidĪcoustic guitar and flute lament. Synth runs with wild commanding saxophone outbursts. Vocal piece `Mikä Aamu', a darker interlude in the middle bringing powerful drums and delirious Gorgeous murmuring bass and flute prance through pleasant Guitar and wafting playful flute trills, where lead guitar and synth washes take on beautiful and `Salaisuuksien Satiiniverhot', Ismo's softly crooned voice accompanied by lovely chiming acoustic Runs, with a final ambitious group vocal around organ to close on. `Valmiina Heräämään' springs to life with flighty flute, snappy drumming and soaring electric guitar

Before the recording of the first and only album of the band, the singer/flautist Pia-Maria NOPONEN also joined the group. Later on KYLLÖNEN was replaced by Leevi LEPPÄNEN (PEKKA POHJOLA GROUP) and JAKSOLA by Eero KOLEHMAINEN. The first solid line-up for the band in 1978 included Timo SEPPÄNEN (guitar), Asko AHONEN (bass), Olavi KYLLÖNEN (drums) and Kari JAKSOLA (keyboards) with JÄRVINEN.
The band concentrates very much on singing, as four of all the members would sing together or take turns on the album. A big part of their music is composed folk-rock, though there is always room left for improvisation. SCAPA FLOW would mostly perform their own songs, but also some known compositions from for example J.S.BACH while touring around Finland. It was originally formed in 1976 by the saxophonist/flautist Ismo JÄRVINEN, though some occasional performances had been held under different setups before this time. SCAPA FLOW is a prog-folk band from Helsinki, Finland.
